Our monthly meetings feature interesting speakers, judging of our members’ orchids, a raffle table, and an opportunity to socialize with our fellow orchid lovers.
Lectures cover a wide variety of topics of interest to orchid lovers:
- Cultural information on specific types of orchids; these speakers may bring plants for sale.
- General cultural topics like
- repotting
- insect control
- disease control help
- Conservation and environmental issues
There is always something new to learn for everyone from novice to expert and we take time for questions and answers.
We feature a raffle table each month, with the exception of our October meeting which is when we have our Orchid Auction. American Orchid Society members have a chance to win a special AOS plant each month too.
Members bring in an assortment of treats each month for us to enjoy during the program break. It’s nice to have something to nibble on while we mingle, make last minute raffle choices, and look at the plants on display.
Thanks to Our Volunteers at our Monthly Meetings
We need members to come in around 6:20 to help set up the meeting room. Please come help out and you’ll also have fun getting to know your fellow members. Thanks to the many people who stay at the end of the meeting and help put the room back in its pre-meeting condition. All of the help before and after the meeting makes this task quick and easy!
